Matt and Kelley first met at a mutual friend's house when they were sixteen years old. Even though they were going to the same high school neither really knew the other until the summer of 2007. Kelley immediately liked him, but was too shy to even talk to him. Thankfully, some scheming friends arranged to get Matt and Kelley together. In typical teenage fashion, they got Matt and Kelley to hang out and even talk to each other. Matt didn't need too much convincing (as he remembers, "I thought, 'Why not? She's pretty cute.'"). Matt asked Kelley to the homecoming dance, and then asked her through a Facebook message to be his girlfriend.
Despite their rather shallow reasons for getting together, they both realized they had a lot in common. They would spend hours playing video games together and bonding over television shows. Matt would listen to Kelley talk about history and books, and Kelley would listen to Matt talk about new technologies. Before they knew it, they had grown up together.
Through tenacious teen angst and the uncertainty of college and career choices, they've made their life together. On September 22, 2016 they will celebrate 9 years together. On September 23, 2016, they will celebrate their marriage with their friends and family.
